"Stop Overthinking and Start Writing: It’s Time to Get Your Book Done!"

Dear Reader

Walking the Talk

In case you didn’t know, I hold myself to some pretty ridiculous standards. I take my role as a coach and leader seriously, even if my corny self might not always show it.

One way this shows up in my life is through my commitment to walking the talk. So much so that my word for the year is “Congruent.” This year, I made a promise to myself to get healthy because I believe that as a leader and a coach, my role goes beyond just teaching and encouraging—it includes being an example.

To make this happen, I enlisted the support of my family, friends, and doctors. I let them know that my goal was to get my health in order through diet, fitness, and healthy habits. I’m proud to say I’m keeping that commitment on many fronts, and it’s starting to pay off with weight loss and a new zest for life.

What in the World Does This Have to Do with Writing a Book, Brian?

A lot!

Last week, I was out for a walk with a friend and shared an idea I've been playing around with since early summer: starting a small book coaching cohort to help five people write a book before the end of the year. In the same breath, I shared one of my guiding values that I call “Original Inspiration.”

Original Inspiration, for me, is about honoring an idea in its original form. I see so many aspiring authors with great ideas but who get stuck over-strategizing their inspiration before they even start their book. Original Inspiration is the prompt I give myself to quit overthinking and simply push off with the idea in its raw form to see where it lands.

Original Inspiration is the brother to my other value: Action Precedes Passion.

So, I pushed off from the shore and shared my coaching program with you last week in my newsletter.

If you only knew how much my skin was crawling sending out a bare-bones newsletter—no focus on providing value, just my offer and my idea. But I justified it to myself by remembering that after 62 weeks of sending out my newsletter, I had earned the right to share my idea... and ask for your money.

I decided to roll with some Original Inspiration and see where this lands.

I don’t know if you know this, but I’m a badass who loves to show up to any challenge ready to go to battle. I don’t disdain failure; I disdain not taking the chance.

Enough About Me. What About You?

I guess what I’m saying is, if by any chance you think you want to write a book…WTF are you waiting for?

I’m going to do something stupid crazy. Last week, I offered my program to Knock Your Book Out in 90 Days for $2,000 to a max of five people.

Here’s the new deal: I’m changing my offer to the first five people who have the guts to get on the phone and convince me that they are ready to write that book. If you’re tired of letting another year go by without doing what you say you’re going to do, I’m going to let you name your price. (Yeah, I know that’s freaking crazy.)

P.S. Don’t lowball me. If you do, I won’t believe you’re serious.

Here’s the sad truth: we don’t live forever. So when are you going to write that book? Don’t go to your grave an author wannabe.

Okay, enough of my rant. Do you all miss overly kind and courteous Brian? :)

Here’s a link to last week’s offer. Take a look, let me know what’s on your Bookit List. Have the courage to schedule a call with me to discuss it. I won’t try to convince you to hire me. I’ll give you some ideas on how to get started, what to consider, and if by chance you want to work with me, you now know I have an option.

Live Big,

Love Bigger!

Brian

Busy entrepreneurs and creators our experts at helping others take action...but seem to always put off what is most important for themselves. Trust me, I get it. I had dreams of writing a book for years until I stumbled my way through writing my first book. After finishing my book I realized that I had developed an excellent strategy for writing a book in a flash. I call it the 90 Day Knockout. Anyway, I believe there are two main things that hold aspiring authors back. A writing ritual and an easy to deploy book framework. I touch on these topics in my weekly newsletter The Write Time, plus many other ideas and inspirations to help you write that first book.
