Dreaming Again: With Eric Bam

Dear Reader

Action - Passion - Publish: My Model for Writing a Book

I'm over the moon for my great friend Eric Bam as he releases his first book, "Dreaming Again"! Eric's one of the most creative people I know, so do yourself a favor: buy his book, follow him on social media, and bask in his creative glow.

By day, Eric's the VP of Marketing for Perfect Crust Pizza Liners, a company with a smorgasbord of products for the pizza industry. Just following him is like enrolling in a master class in marketing excellence.

Eric and I met during the pandemic as part of an impromptu mastermind group of sales pros. We met weekly for nearly two years, and our lives have been tangled up ever since.

I owe Eric big time. Without him, I might not be doing book coaching today. It all started when I mentioned my book "Customer Delight 365" during one of our mastermind calls. Eric pounced on it like a cat on a laser pointer. (Claude.ai wrote that last sentence..but I love the vision of Eric chasing a laser pointer.)

He wanted to know more, so I sent him a signed copy.

Next thing I know, Eric's singing my book's praises in our group and beyond. Truth be told, I wasn't actively marketing it - it had been four years since its release, and I was wrapped up in my day job.

But Eric's enthusiasm reignited my passion for writing and creating. It led me to work on a new book idea (which admittedly fizzled due to pandemic overwhelm), but it woke up my inner writer.

This awakening pushed me to sign up for a 30-day writing challenge on LinkedIn, which I stretched into a 730-day odyssey to find my voice. And guess what bubbled up? Book coaching!

It's no coincidence that Eric's book is called "Dreaming Again" - it couldn't be more on-brand for what he brings to the world. I don't know anyone better at shining a light on people's potential.

I'm honored I could provide Eric with guidance on his book, from fixing the pesky double colon in his Amazon title to converting his paperback for hardback printing.

Here's the kicker about Eric's approach: He just started writing. He took Action, which sparked Passion and led to Publishing. Want to know a secret? Passion and publishing are the easy parts. They happen organically when you take action.

I'm not throwing Eric under the bus, but he really didn't know what he was doing when he started. Now he's a published author.

So, if you're mulling over writing a book, remember: there's only one true factor for success. Take action!

Thanks, Eric, for helping me Dream Again.

Live Big,

Love Bigger!

Word of the Week

syncopate

syn·co·pate /ˈsiNGkəˌpāt/ verb

1. displace the beats or accents in (music or a rhythm) so that strong beats become weak and vice versa. “soloists maintain the absolute freedom to syncopate the rhythm or break free from the beat entirely”

2. shorten (a word) by dropping sounds or letters in the middle, as in symbology for symbolology, or Gloster for Gloucester.

Busy entrepreneurs and creators our experts at helping others take action...but seem to always put off what is most important for themselves. Trust me, I get it. I had dreams of writing a book for years until I stumbled my way through writing my first book. After finishing my book I realized that I had developed an excellent strategy for writing a book in a flash. I call it the 90 Day Knockout. Anyway, I believe there are two main things that hold aspiring authors back. A writing ritual and an easy to deploy book framework. I touch on these topics in my weekly newsletter The Write Time, plus many other ideas and inspirations to help you write that first book.
